Arrhythmias in children with congenital heart defects.

Objective: To find out the prevalence of different types arrhythmias in children with congenital heart defects (CHDs) presenting at a tertiary care hospital. Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Setting: Department Pediatrics, Rai Medical College Teaching Hospital, Sargodha Pakistan. Period: July 2021 to June 2022. Material & Methods: A total 120 both genders aged 1 day 16 years and study setting confirmed CHDs were evaluated. At time enrollment, demographical information disease history noted. Necessary laboratory investigations like complete blood count serum electrolytes analyzed while standard electrocardiography (ECG) was performed. Prevalence Results: In CHDs, 64 (53.3%) boys. Mean age be 2.7±2.1. Most common electrolyte abnormalities noted hyponatremia hypermagnesemia found 39 (32.5%) 26 (21.7%) respectively. There 31 (25.8%) who diagnosed have arrhythmias. Out these children, first degree A-V block most observed 24 (77.4%) cases ectopic rhythm 3 (9.7%). Conclusion: The findings this research revealed that are quite among having CHDs. is need routine assessment for possible presence
